Biomedical Image Analysis

The Biomedical Imaging Laboratory (BioImLab) is involved in the research of novel techniques for biomedical image processing and analysis and in the development of diagnostic tools for clinical applications. The main application area is ophthalmology, with projects related e.g. to the analysis of corneal images acquired from various layers (epithelium, sub-basal layer, stroma, endothelium) and of retinal images acquired with fundus cameras. Our interests encompass also other topics in biomedical imaging, such as chromosome analysis for automatic karyotyping, conjunctiva haemodynamics and skin lesion analysis.
